I blatantly avoid clients at work. I hate dealing with them directly because they often piss me off with their lack of tact and ignorance. I'm sure many of you can relate. Why else do we hide behind our computers?

So we get a little more bitter each time and design or code our next masterpiece. Any form of criticism becomes ego compensation because we are creatures of emotion, not logic.

I listened to a classic piece of literature you may of heard of (audio book) called "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. Even on the web, human relationships are vital. The people up top... the leaders, are those that know how to deal with egos.

Very few can pull it off. The key to leadership is positive reinforcement, finding commonalities and aligning your will with that of others.

Each time I slip into the realm of negativity, I have to remind myself that the person that can retain a positive outlook in the worst conditions wins.

True. And the old Carnegie books rule.

"How to stop worrying..." is the only book I ever bought after reading it and it's packed with information and inspiration.

The "only" problem is actually remembering & forcing yourself to follow and use the knowledge you already have, instead of just blindly obeying your old impulses like mostly everybody else does.
