I've recently started using a cloud vps and I'm not overly ecstatic with its performance, but as its the first time using such a service i dont have anything in my experience to compare it to.

Would a `cloud` vps be slower than a `normal` vps?

And I'm guessing a dedicated server would be *significantly* faster than a vps?

I'm not doing anything complicated either, just running outlook, excel etc so I can do my own projects while at the `day job` :)

It all depends.
A VPS is just a dedicated server sectioned off. It really depends on the specifications of the server and the amount of VPS's on it.

The quickest of all 3 options *should* be the dedicated server if all 3 were using equivalent hardware.

Thats pretty much what I assumed. Plus I have no way of knowing how many vps are on the one box etc.

Can you explain what you mean?
Are you using the VPS as an exchange server or something?
