I'm sure you want MySpace to improve their advertising as much as I do. I've sent them the following email (via their feedback interface, which I've found they actually respond to):
Improve MySpace Advertising's Interface
(that site is owned by a WF member btw - so no you didn't win a free iPhone)
I have linked them to the petition below so maybe they get a little motivation to do something. If you agree with it, please SIGN THE PETITION HERE:Hi. I am somebody who wants to spend a lot of money advertising on MySpace, but I'm hesitant to move my capital away from Facebook due to a lack of real control over it. If I were to shift much of my spend to MySpace, there are a few key features I would like to see first:
1) Account-wide daily spending limits. Based on my experimental testing, it seems like impressions are given first to the campaigns with higher spending limits. However, when I am running over 10 ads at once, I can't afford to set a high spending limit for each one. It would be nice if there was ONE spending limit for the entire account.
2) Overall spend tracking. This one is HUGE. At the moment there is no overview that can show you how much you have spent total - today or in a date range. This is a feature that pretty much every other PPC network has, and where myspace is seriously lacking.
3) Delete campaigns. I don't see why we can't delete campaigns - it would keep everything cleaner for me.
4) Improved campaign creation/ad upload interface. At the moment, if I want to create just 10 campaigns, it takes me upwards of 10 minutes of repetitive clicking and waiting for slow-loading Flash applications. A serious improvement would be a separate ad creation interface and campaign creation interface. In the ad creation interface, you could upload multiple ads at once (preferably through HTML, not flash). Then, once they were approved, those ads would be available to select in your campaigns. Of course, a desktop tool would be even better, but I realize that is quite a stretch.
These few improvements would not only push me to move the majority of my spend over to MySpace, but would improve the advertiser experience SIGNIFICANTLY. Your goal should be to streamline as much as possible - if you follow that, you will achieve great results.
I think you will find that there are many advertisers who agree with me, and for that reason I have started an online petition (at the time of sending this email - please watch as it grows).
