Which do you guys find to be more useful for landing page design? I personally haven't used Illustrator yet but have heard that its much better for integrating text and graphics.

I use Illustrator to rough out layouts as I find it quicker than Photoshop, and I can have several layouts and design ideas on the go in one document, but then I switch to Photoshop for finalizing the design and cutting it up.

I have a few designer friends who do all their web work in Fireworks, it remains the tool of choice for a lot of people.

I use Illustrator for all logo design and print work, unless it's a multi page document like a magazine layout, and then I move to Indesign. If I have to do Flash work I use Illustrator for that too, because I absolutely hate the drawing tools in Flash.

I don't think the two can really be lumped into the one category, to be honest they totally different programs which are meant to server totally different purposes.

Illustrator is fantastic for logo, print design and for using to create vector elements to import into Photoshop or Flash.

Photoshop is great for manipulating images and putting web layouts down without much fuss.

They are both individually great programs and work very well together. So I vote both!

For landing page design I always use photoshop, for logos or icons, AI(vector) is the only way to go.

Like a few others have said, they're both 2 different applications.

Illustrator for logo / print work, and Photoshop for web based design like layouts / gfx.

But if I *had* to choose between one or the other, photoshop.
