Dynamic content that can be updated from a central location.

After giving it some thought I'm sure wordpress will do exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. I wanted to avoid the bloat of running a full blown cms but I guess I can trade bloat for convenience.
 
There are loads of lightweight CMSs out there, with some not even being run by databases. I honestly think that while WordPress is versatile, it is too much for a one-three page site.

Also, if you must use WordPress, use multi-site, so you can run multiple WordPress sites on one install. Saves a lot of bloat there.
 
i have so many custom code segments + multivariate rotator that really its quicker to have a simple css layout and custom code the rest

wordpress is good for seo/organic traffic with all the plugins available
