I have a site that was regged in 2006 that I slapped phpBay on 3 months ago. The site is almost entirely phpBay and has earned about $900 in 3 months. I need a bunch of money to pay my 2008 taxes and am selling off some assets.

Please PM for details. I might auction off at Sitepoint but I'm not sure I feel like explaining what phpBay is to potential buyers, explaining why they have to buy it, how to set it up, etc...

So why not start at WF, where phpBay is our friend. The site is very much inline with my phpBay tutorial but it does NOT have a brand name/trademark issue.
 


Sold to me.. No way I was going to let it go to on Sitepoint gotta keep this kinda stuff in the family
 
Got the money via PayPal. Sent the files/domain. I can't believe I actually used PayPal but Doug seemed like a good enough guy. Don't make me turn you into the next Car Sales Asshole!

Excuse me for hijacking the thread, but since the sale is complete I figure no harm...remind me how to get your phpbay listings to show like that? You know, with out looking like it's ebay?

If you know a bit of PHP you can skip over phpbay and use the eBay API which will enable you get get results like that plus a whole lot more.

they actually make an API version of PHPbay for more seamless integration into wordpress. But I guess thats the main thing bout phpbay, adds an extra level of ease in terms of integrating with wordpress, even if you do know php.
 
Yeah...I would rather just use the phpbay...but I thought there was a way to do it? I thought I remembered rgordon talking about it at one point.

Your right I did see that they had an API for it, I never used there version of the API though, I usually just create my own classes for my own projects.
 
Yeah when I got it the bundle it was only $79. I used the API version to convert a BANS site that I already had going (pre-EPN). Glad I did get it because it forced me to learn a little more PHP.
 
jizz, what made you switch from BANS to phpbay? Are you seeing an increase in traffic or earnings? I have a bunch of BANS sites, some are doing pretty good, others that don't convert as well. haven't tried phpbay yet. is the switch worth it?
