Police: Parents Smoked Pot & Passed Bong To Baby GRAPEVINE (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
Two Grapevine parents were arrested after they allegedly gave a marijuana bong to their 1-year-old child.

Julio Cesar Garcia and Branda Duran remain in police custody after being arrested Monday night.

The incident in question happened at an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Grayson Drive.

At least one witness said they saw Garcia, 20, and Duran, 19, not only smoking pot, but at one point passing the bong to their 13-month-old son. It was then the witness/witnesses called police.

Garcia, who has at least two prior marijuana possession convictions, has been charged with Endangering a Child and Possession of Marijuana. Duran faces an Endangering a Child charge. The child is now in the care of a grandmother.

This is one of the more disturbing "Why certain people should not have children" stories I have seen in a while...

I watched a five year old for a bit, He would pack his own bowls but he still couldn't even spark a lighter... Why not focus on that hardened criminal child? Instead of the one at home with his parents, smoking in safety...

Yes. And if you're thinking "Not sure if serious?" I fucking am.

Alcohol affects children in different ways than adults and giving it to a child could kill them. If you're giving him a 'taste' he may think it's ok to drink a whole lot more in the future when you're not around (or lying unconscious in a pool of your own vomit)
