In 2007, based on statistics from 18 dancers over 60 days, it was noted that female lap dancers earned the highest tips around the time of ovulation, during the most fertile period of their menstrual cycle, and the lowest tips during menstruation; the average difference in earning between these two times amounted to about $30 per hour. Women on the pill earned overall less than those not on the pill. The results were interpreted as evidence of estrus in humans: females apparently advertise their fertility status to males in some manner. This find earned its authors the 2008 Ig Nobel Prize in Economics.

I've noticed a lot of people here talking about videos of chicks talking either for dating site leads or trying to sell or promote something. The quoted portion above seems to suggest that if you recorded the videos while they were ovulating that you could make more money. Who wants to split test?

You are right. I am not sure if the statistics shows how much a woman will earn if she is under the influence of a drug or if she will not limit to lap dancing...:cool-smiley-008:
 
Not sure it would work via video. It's likely a pheromone and scent thing.

There was a Science Channel show I watched awhile back where German researchers were studying pheromones, specifically one called "copulins."
They were able to synthesize it, and had guys wear face masks with the copulins piped in while trying to judge the attractiveness of females displayed on a computer screen. The guys breathing the copulins consistently were much more lenient in their ratings than were the gents not inhaling copulins.
 
There's a documentary on Netflix that echoes a lot of the same ideas - The Science of Sex Appeal. Very interesting :)

Combine that with good copywriting and suggestive language and you should have a pretty killer promo video.

Yeah man, I've been waiting for a day when we all have something hooked up to our computers that lets us smell different things over the Internet. When that happens it's going to be on for real.

Whoops, got distracted by a phone call when I was replying earlier and forgot to mention the most important part - There were a lot of other studies that showed that it wasn't JUST a matter of copulins/scent. They also found that when women dance, ovulating women will take up more space with their movement, and they will also wear clothing that covers less of their body, on average. Some other study also found that men will find their voices more attractive at that point in the cycle.

That's pretty fucking awesome.
 
There was a study where they got women to look at pictures of men, and while they were menstruating (may be the other way round, not sure) they were more attracted to more effeminate men, I believe. So this may be due partly to them working harder (i.e. the kind of men that frequent strip clubs?), or accidentally going for the bigger tippers, as perhaps the more effeminate (or less effeminate) men tip more.
