I had a small PPC campaign a while ago that I made a 90% return on. It was pretty half assed and I know I could make some money if I actually tried. Problem is I'm 17 and I have no credit card. Somehow I convinced my parents to put the $50 for that first attempt in Adwords (traded money via PayPal for Adwords credit) but I'd really like to start doing it under my own steam. I need some form of credit card and my parents wont sign for it. I've been checking out the sites of some banks around here (RBC, ScotiaBank, etc), but I can't really find anything about a prepaid credit card. Anyone know about them, or maybe some other way of getting Adwords funds?

giftcards.com should have what you need. You send them money and they'll send you a giftcard number. There's another service that's virtual card numbers based on funded accounts, can't remember the name of it but I'm sure someone will come up with it.

Pharmacy chains like CVS, Walgreens, etc usually have the pre-paid cards where you can just buy them with cash. No sense in buying them online if you don't have to.

There is also Western Union, e-gold, etc. Basically anything that you can either fund your paypal account with or just use the pre-paid cc's directly on Adwords. Not that tough.

Don't they make those "green dot" pre-loaded Visa cards?

I think those could work for you, and they can be reloaded.

I know some people who were using them to fund their poker accounts not too long ago. Like Jon said, drug stores like CVS and such usually carry them.

I don't know if you have to be 18 or not.

What about a Debit card? Do you have to be 18 to get a debit card on a checking account that you have with your bank? I don't know, I'm too old - debit cards weren't really out there when I was a teenager.

Just go to your local bank and get a debit card that gets reloaded off your bank account. Thats what I did. I got it when I was 16 too.

I've got a PayPal debit card. They have virtual ones you can use too, but I don't recommend putting that down for something that isn't a one time purchase (i.e. don't use it for AdWords). Just wait 2 weeks for it to come, it's worth it - I use mine all the time. :D

EDIT: Pretty sure this will only work if the PayPal is in one of your parent's names. Although it should be anyway...then they just have to sign the back of the debit card.

Pardon me partially hijacking your thread, but...

Does anyone know of a UK alternative to the solutions said above?^

Yep... but no fuckin idea where I saved them! I'll try and find em, but just Google pre-pay credit cards.

One I remember which seemed good was the Lloyds TSB travel money card - maybe no good for under 18's not sure, but seemed good.

and 3v - get a card online, then use it to buy temp card numbers in loads of shops.

Get the prepaid cards and then fund an epassporte account with them. The epassporte account gives you a virtual credit card number so you won't have to keep changing cc numbers. That should work for you.
