Anybody have experience prototyping their own physical product? I've got something in mind I want to have made (let's say it'd be something similar to a phone case...small and plastic), but have no experience with companies that build prototypes.

Anything that would help out more than just randomly Googling manufacturers would be appreciated.

i remember a professor of mine talked about it in my class. I would literally just do the Google search for something local.

Obviously check reviews and try to go w/ the most legit looking company.

If your worried about them stealing the idea etc... i wouldn't sweat it.

There was a recent thread on plastic molding companies in the product owners section AKA use the search bar

It depends on the type of product. But a 3d printing company can do pretty simple stuff for you. Some will even design it for an additional fee.

I was looking into buying a 3d printer, they are awesome!
