I run a few successful large ecommerce stores for a company and want to try building some of my own, having a tough time finding good product sources though. I'm specifically looking for US based drop shippers, not something I need to stock and order from China. Anyone know a place to start? Most of my Googeling is resulting in crap..

Find someone who sells the item in a local region (like a brick and mortar store owner) and start talking to them. You already know how many you're selling, so tell them you can increase their sales by X units per month. Have them order more from their supplier and sell to you just above cost. Then when you're ready, cut them out.

Look for a legitimate wholesaler. One company that can really help with that is called worldwide brands. They have a huge database of wholesalers. Including drop shippers if that is what you are looking for. They also offer a basic course on how to succeed at selling online or offline. You can also go to your local library and ask the reference libraian for a wholesale directory resource.

Or you can go to the products manufacturer and ask them for people who wholesales their products. Or go to alibaba and find a supplier there. I wouldn't go to worldwide brands, I feel that that Site is a scam/not necessary

I started with WWB back in the day while I was still on eBay.

They just "seem" scammy with all the "Consulting" courses they are pushing these days. Don't let that trip you up.

They are THE most legitimate sourcing site on the web. Time is MONEY and the time it would take YOU to find the sources they have would cost you no less than 20 times what they charge for LIFETIME access to the sources that they UPDATE on a Monthly basis.

Well worth the money in my opinion if e-Tailing is something you're looking at doing.

Of course you can contact the MFG's directly on your own without a service like WWB, but as I said, that is going to COST/TAKE TIME.

WWB is NOT what it use to be!!! ARGH!!

OK, I've gotten a couple of PM's about World Wide Brands and I've logged into my account after a few years of not using them.

I RETRACT MY ENDORSEMENT!!!!!!!!

The site is now frustrating, fewer suppliers, NOT giving the sourcing prices without applying to suppliers now it would seem.

I can NO LONGER vouch for them nor endorse them.

Your best bet for Product Sourcing now a days?

Start with Manufacture Directories.

United States Manufacturer Directory

ThomasNet® - Product Sourcing and Supplier Discovery Platform

I'd also suggest YELLOW PAGES for USA Manufacturers.

Contact them directly to find the ones who will offer what you seek and will do business with you.

I PAID for WWB back in 2008, but I was new and the tutorials and experience were worth it for "me" back then.

I'd suggest staying away from any directory-dropshipper-supplier that wants a FEE to JOIN in order to get Product Prices.

I've secured big brand connections at my local swap meet. No Googeling required bro.

This. I've walked a couple of shows and gotten many contacts for merchants for my latest venture. Nailed down 1 dropshipper, working on reaching out to the rest.
