I've been using the old version of Prosper (1.3 or something) for years now without upgrading. There's been a talk on WF about how the new version sucks since Prosper switched to a new team. Anyone knows what's up with that?

Plus there was a partitioning problem in the old versions, anyone knows if it's solved in the new one?

I just installed prosper202; way too convoluted; junky ass shit. simplify - k thx. (total waste of time)

keep it simple stupid (KISS) motherfuckers!!! FTW.

all this hype over a simple php script; i have never in my life. i have a hard time believing these guys are Stanford graduates. no offense, i think it is really cool what they are doing, but definitely overhyped. quite a diverse team they have working with them, and would probably be a really cool experience to be a part of that.. but idk.

how are they running such a monopoly on the affiliate industry when it is soooo easy to duplicate?

is no one with me on this?

Jealous or something? The fact is they have been offering a self hosted tracking script for free the last couple years which has really helped a lot of people. Insulting their education and their efforts is a pretty low blow, but I suppose that doesn't matter much since it's coming from some insignificant user with a bunch of neg reps.

i am not insulting their education; i would love to have been a part of the efforts, or to have imitated their startup agenda. stanford is an excellent institution of higher learning.

however, what they have done has easily been achieved by those of an age decades younger.

by the way, seems i have been a member here quite a bit longer than you have.

what the fuck are you blathering about? Everyone on that team is early 20's or earlier.

they created more of a public service then an actual business if anything, and now youre trying to shit on them because there isn't any other competitor?

You "have hard time believing these guys are Stanford graduates". That is an insult to their intelligence and education whether you can realize it or not. You're insinuating that they couldn't have attended stanford because you think their product isn't up to par with what a stanford grad would produce, which is offensive to someone who has completed an education like that. Also, some of the prosper guys are in their 20's so decades younger would mean 7 year olds are churning out similar projects which I find pretty hard to believe. Measuring capability by someone's age is stupid anyway, an 18 year old can be much more competent than someone who is 35 with the exact same experience, or vice versa.

fyi- How long you have been here doesn't mean much if you are being an annoying asshole and nobody respects you.

Maybe you should make us a kickass tracker, or just get your 10 year old to do it. Then give it to all of us for free.

I'm still on 1.5 as people where having problems upgrading to 1.6. Can anyone confirm if 1.6 is working?

Thanks

From the Prosper202 Website: "There is only one major difference between this 1.6.1 stable version and the 1.6 beta version. There was an advanced landing page issue that we've resolved and it no longer shows the in-correct click count on the overview pages."

THAT IS A NO! haha.

I love those guys, but its still not a stable release.

And the problems are still not fixed. I know it came out a while ago but still the same.

I am pretty sure the entire industry appreciates these guys and their efforts.

Anyone could create a similar script, sure.. but they did it for free.

Lots of people made money with it... Helped put themselves through school... Pay for diapers and formula... Thanks in part to their simple script that they released for free and supported for free.

Why hate?

I am far from hating and I know that you were not saying I was.

I am forever indebted to those guys. I have learned more from them when I first started then anyone else.

But, Prosper is still not super stable, but for the price like you said, its great!
