Does Google check whois information as well as IP Addresses? Building a mini-net and this question just came up....

They probably factor whois in, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. I've got networks handled with all 3 whois types (private / forged / legit) and I've really not noticed much of a difference. However, I wouldn't doubt that it's factored in to the algo in some small way.

IP addresses for sure though.

The whois stuff must play a factor in local stuff imo, to verify that XYZ on ABC street is who they say they are or something along those lines.

This sounds realistic, and also something Google wouldn't forget to implement into their algo. After all, there is a lot of posers online, so they have to find a way to weed them out from the rest, that is if they haven't already done so of course.
