I have one bottleneck that is a bit annoying, When I create adsense channels there doesnt seem to be an easy way to find their numbers without generating new ads for each channel then copying the whole add and cutting the number out.

Before I program a screen scraper for the adsense interface, Is there an easier way to find these numbers? Thanks, Derek.

I ran into this same problem, until somebody pointed out URL channels. You can set up a different channel on a per-domain, per-subdomain, per-directory, or per-page basis. I'm not sure if it will help in your specific case, but it made things a lot easier for me.

I hope you have discovered the Adsense API. If you haven't, that'd be a great alternative to spending your time hacking together a scraper.

Use the URL channel method described above in combination with the Report Service, matched with your click data from your PPC provider. You should be able to do some nice automated ROI tracking to pump or disable your new campaigns.

Good luck man!

I don't know why Adsense does just automatically keep track of which click came from which URL. It would make things a lot easier for publishers if they could see a report of what pages generate what income without having to manage (or more often, mismanage) the channel system. Or at the very least, let us dynamically define channels in the ad code, rather than having to predefine them.
