Question on different sized dual monitors

I'm running a 24 and I think a 20 or 22. I hate that it's different and not symmetrical but if u can get past that should be ok. I don't have any issues with the eyes.

if diff size then get a monitor stand that will keep them on a stand around the same height that way when dragging back and forth it wont be annoying. ive had diff size monitors at home and it has always annoyed me.

i constantly have my laptop hooked up to a monitor and they are completely different sizes and heights

if its a problem at first you will get used to it.

I have a 42" monitor and a 22" to the left of it. I don't have any real issues with it, but it did take some getting use to.

If the actual size of the monitor is the same and you can match the height it won't be that big of a deal.

However if you have different sized monitors it really depends.

Currently I have two 24" and a 22". The 22" has a taller ratio so it almost matches the 24's perfectly. I have however also had a 17" next to the 22" and it was fine. I think the part that will mess with you is if the size of the text is different from one screen to another.

If you want ease of access, get the same size. I have a dual 22 at my desk and a frnd has varied sizes. I find it a bitch to use his. I tend to drag and drop windows on multiple monitors and when I dont find it where I want to see it, I get irritated. Id seriously buy a same size dual monitor if I had to.

Plus, Im one of those guys that likes to keep things clean with greater minimalism. Hence, the look and feel of the place where I work is of utmost importance. Its incentive to work more better, faster and cleaner.

^ Yeah you bring up a valid point. The mouse will not move over to the other monitor at the top you need to pull it down before you can move over and that's a pain in the ass. Highly recommend you get the same size.

I run a 24 (main) and a 22, it feels odd for like a day and then you'll be over it.

This can be adjusted very easily in windows' display settings

Protip for people using a laptop + monitor: put the laptop under the monitor (raise monitor height if needed), use laptop keyboard, looking up and down is easier than moving side to side IMO.

But then why would you want to see two different resolutions?

How can you guys stay focused with more than one monitor??

One 15" is perfect for me, anything more/bigger and I start opening multiple windows/procrastinating...

Multiple monitors speed up work by nearly 40%.

Yes you can choose where you want the dead spot but if the monitors are different resolutions then the dead spot will always be there due, you can only select where.

Yes i agree two monitors is much better for at least my kind of work. I now have 3 and it's even better. Ftp, skype on one, netbeans on another and browsers on another.

If going for multiple monitors, go for the same make and model and try to buy them together at same time.

Adjusting the resolution / brightness / contrast to be same on both monitors is a hard task. And if you are going to be working most of the day and have to switch your eyes frequently between two different brightness monitors, mind you, your eyes are going to be hurt very fast.

Oh my god you have no idea what your missing. Take that damn CRT and throw it in the river. Even if you just buy 1 monitor and add the second one down the road you will be amazed at the eye relief and productivity of a larger dual monitor setup
