Hi,

So I have my niche, my niche product (upgrading into a course from eBook hopefully) - etc etc and I'm planning on doing a relaunch of my website. My website is a carry over from a previous 10 page kind of design that is fresh from 2006. It makes me shudder. Anyway - long overdue makeover/expansion.

I have a list of keywords. It's actually 40k keywords to be honest. Collected from 2002 when my site first launched - this is going to be the basis of my new site. I've run 10 or 20 thousand of them through UNF to sort by difficulty. Burned though tons of proxies, but w/e I got my results. Now the question I have is...

For similar longtail keywords do you create a new page for each one?

For example:

- where do I buy ____ in USA?
- where can I get _____ in USA
- where can you buy ______ in USA

and so on. All these search phrases are pretty darn similar. They are ASKING the same thing, but they aren't identical. I'm wondering what is the best way to handle/target this sort of thing. I've come up with a couple ideas so far...

1) Create a separate page for each long tail keyword and make sure the content is unique.
- This will be painful
- This may be seen as spam by Google

IS this idea any good? From the experienced people please :-)

2) This idea involved a more sophisticated approach. When I create a "Q&A" page targeting the above keyword phrases, I will INPUT all variations of that keyword phrase into a special area of my page. It will only be visible from the Admin side. So I have 1 page answering those 4 keyword phrases. However here comes the twist.

On all my Q&A pages on my website there is going to be a "Related Q&A" set of links at the bottom of each page, linking to related Q&A pages obviously. The "Related Q&A" are will then use my 4 different keyword phrases as the ANCHORS linking back to that Q&A page. So that Q&A page will be linked to from a few other pages and those different phrases will all be the anchor text, rotated of course.

Is this a good idea? Has anyone done anything similar?

Suggestions on this & feedback? Am I on the right track?

XH

For synonyms it doesn't matter as google understands them, if you really want to catch them "old style" so you can combine them in a long post together.

A lot of what you are asking was just talked about here http://www.wickedfire.com/traffic-content/179796-question-authority-long-tail-kws.html Hopefully, that helps

Muchly appreciated - I didn't think to check the traffic forum. I can't believe I've been missing out on that. I thought the enlightened members forum was good the traffic forum is also amazing.

I just tested this - ran the same keyword phrase with the i/you and get/buy/find variations and the results are HIGHLY similar.

Going to figure out the best way to move forward with this.
