Couple saves their home with steamy romance novels - CBS News Video

They self publish their own shit, sell 1,000,000+ e-books a year (20 titles)

I've checked out some of it on Amazon, most of it it's sub 100 pages. All that money...laying around...on amazon books...for this kinda "literature"

Someone attacked my last thread for plugging some affiliate shit..lol...I won't post links to this, find it yourself

But damn...the titles of these books...you would think you need to come up with an absolute novelty to crack the code....turns out...no...you just go down the shades of gray road and add some semi-skank flava to it...

Did you check out the typography? They're using like 18pt fonts, so it's more like 50 pages lol.

Yeah that too LOL huge font, in my opinion totally unreadable and ugly, relatively low page count and they raking in free money like nothing.

I was thinking the same thing. Not about 'genius strategy', because it's not genius at all imho, but in the begging of that video they said how they read all best selling books because they wanted to see what they should write about.

They did pretty good job at research. Congrats to them.

i belong to an authors forum & every woman on there is cranking out bad romance novels. if the material were even somewhat good, it'd get ignored by almost all women.

women want terrible/cheesy/idiotic entertainment options. if anyone here doubts that, its currently 2:30pm Eastern... flip on your tv right now and rate the quality of programming on at the moment. its all targeted toward dumb fat housewives with IQs under 100.

This is like junk food for the brain and Americans love junk food.
 
That's it, this is the proof that you need to be desperate if you want your brain to come up with a million dollar idea. Otherwise, the fucker is just working at "meh" mode. I'll start getting into troubles.
 
Forget the books are about fatties... look at the model. (I'm just going off the reviews, looks like the first book is free)
1. Write a short story that ends with a Cliffhanger.
2. Give away for free.
3. Sell the next one to complete the cliffhanger....

Drug dealers do it all the time... Want to to try this for free?
Then you pay for the next one...
These fatties are falling all over themselves to feed their curiosity that got stoked in the freebie.... Brilliant!
