Ok, I know reading anything that isn't an eBook will be alien to many of the WFers out there, but some of us do enjoy a paper read about web related things that aren't necessarily about earning millions on AdSense or MySpace.

The last few months I've read some good tech books on stuff from Joel Comms AdSense Code to CSS tips to the awesome Andrew Goodman's AdWords Book. Currently I'm looking for some good titles to read (whilst on the shitter) about general affiliate techniques and search marketing - or any related fields that will be of interest or inspiration.

I'm after good titles and renowned authors, fairly up to date and no, let me stress this, no eBooks.

What have you read in the last few months about the web and marketing that everyone here should read? I say everyone, I mean those around these parts who have an attention span longer than a 2 page report on spamming digg. :D

Half way though Influence and a few tweaking has increased my conversion rate about 20%. Its not even the what I say really, but the way I do. My vote goes for Influence.

Not really the best book in my opinion, but then again I don't read many business related books

The Game : penetrating the society of pick up artists. Interesting read trust me. :) Its about how to pick up women, but its the same fucking process while trying to use copy to sell anything on the web.

The Robert Collier Letter Book.-- You can have a well optimised website with all the best scripts, but if your copy has no hint of salesman ship you are fucked.

Scientific Advertising -- by claude hopkins .. This book is the shit trust me dont even bother buying the above books. Buy this one.

Lol its not even worth using my amazon aff links on the above titles enjoy. Pm me what you think about the game.

This thread reminds me... I'm going to order "How To Get Rich" by Felix Dennis from Amazon, since no local stores carry it. I might as well tag another to it... should I get "Don't Make Me Think", or "Influence".

Don't <ake Me Think" is alright, but not worth buying. It's a really short read, and I don't find myself looking back at it ever for a reference (most of it is pretty common sense once he explains it).

I just read "An Idiots Guide To eBay" (Harpur Collins Press, 1999) and I loved it! (Although, I must confess that some of it was over my head).

Neg rep for recomending books

Wtf got 4 neg points for recomending books, why judge me before even reading the books???? They arent even aff links, lol can i have a reset for some weird reason i dont deserve this. :mad:The books have more to do with the thought process that goes into buying and salesmanship than coding, thats why those long sales letters exist
