Umm why don't you just test it on your VPS or dedicated? You don't need to test it on that domain to know if it works. If it doesn't check with your host already man, mod_rewrite might be disabled or whatever...you're running linux/apache ya?

Would probably save you a lot of time if you just called your host and asked them what you have. Just a suggestion. mod_rewrite is very useful. If they don't have it enabled maybe you can talk them into enabling it!
