Redirecting an image?

don't redirect requests for the image, redirect based on user-agent and referrer- all humans coming from the url of the image results page.

Possibly not. Technically what you would be doing is showing visitors different content than Google sees which is a violation of their TOS.

Setup an htaccess rule to check the referrer and redirect if it's a match.
 
Making a .jpg return a full web page may get you in trouble, it's better to use the highly referenced image in another more targeted landing page so it returns with Google Image results. You also want to make sure the image is actually popular and isn't just being pulled from improper use.
