So I ran a campaign with these guys a couple years ago, ReduxMedia, and even though i had a 24hr out clause, when I executed it, they said "we'll put in a request to have the traffic stopped" but it never did.

What should have been around a $1k bill became a $9k bill because every day they said "it will process today, don't worry" until finally it stopped around $9k.

I heard from them a few weeks later when they said "ok time to pay $9k bill"

I've been trying to figure out how to deal with this... Talking with lawyers etc... But ReduxMedia has been using tons of scare tactics, like finding pictures of me online and sending them to me (um ok...?), telling me they'll take me to court immediately if i don't pay now, etc...

So i guess my post here is to ask, has anyone been in a similar situation? And also, just a warning not to do business with this company. Maybe their traffic is better these days? I wouldn't know since it's been a couple years. But what I do know is that the people who run this company are the kind who make me wish I wasn't on the same planet with them. By the way, I don't know if it makes a difference but they're in Canada

I've had experience as a Publisher with them before, and their rates sucked. It's just the bog standard Right Media CPM ad network with the same shitty flashy "catch the duck" "shoot the bird" ads.

I've got a contact there if you wan't to chat to him.

Shoot me a PM if you want.

That's fucked up. How much traffic did you receive in the 24 hours after you executed your out clause? They asked you to pay $9k a couple years ago? What's been happening since then? What did your lawyer say?

You shouldn't have to pay $9k and their retardedness with the pictures can be used against them.

They are scam... they are after a couple of other IMs doing the same trick. That 'Stephanie' girl keeps sending out scaremails. Don't pay them, they are trying to scam you.

Keep any and all emails they sent you. If they are truly blackmailing you then they are indeed fucked.

They aren't really black mailing me since there's nothing bad about the photos, etc. They're basically trying to scare me with a private investigator making me uncomfortable, showing me that they can "find stuff" about me online *wowwwwww great job guys* etc... Sounds like they feel they have sufficient records/evidence or documents so that they're confident they'll kill me in court. I'm not up for that experience so I'm trying to settle with them. They've been bothering me for 2 years. I've never not paid anyone I owed. I'm even a generous person. But I don't believe in paying fraudsters.

oh well

I had a similar problem with Burst for about $20k and they tried to intimidate me. I told them they better get rid of all the evidence that they allowed me to run non-compliant Oprah ads on on their network or they might have bigger problems. VP reached out and apologized and made the problem go away. Moral of the story - scare them back because I guarantee they have dirt on their hands and the last thing they want is an investigation.
