Hi Guys,

I'm hoping you can ease my frustrations. I have been trying a number of advertising sources, and they all seem to be burning my cash with no conversions. I have tried:

Clicksor
7Search
Adside
Adbrite
DirectCPV

And Adwords -- prior to them threatening to ban my account, because they don't like my Aff Landing pages. Ironically they did give me conversions.

I'm really struggling here. Can you please recommend Ad Networks that you personally have used for a while and that give decent conversions for a range of affiliate offers. Preferably with good targeting too. Also they must be able to provide the volume to scale, and not expect you to mortgage your house just to test them out.

Your help will be sincerely appreciated.
 


I'd try fb and pof as well
sometimes, cheaper traffic sources mean harder conversion, and you really need a strong ad/lp
it shouldn't be too hard to get your first couple conversions on bigger networks, and it should motivate you to further optimize your ads
 
Don't try to spend $25k or so on all that media buys. Cause it takes like 3-4 times that to get it right:) Do individual buys and if you really have big budget better CREATE website Google will love anyway even if you are an affiliate, custom one, etc, it will be costly, not that 10 splash pages wonder which sells something on each page....and you will be all right.

As a rule I never, ever recommend the "other" PPC programs. I have tried them with some success in the past, but it would never be consistent. Most of the time, conversions would be awful but once in a while they'd be great. Whenever I found a great one a flood of garbage traffic would inevitably start up soon.

If you do try them, use very accurate tracking and log anything that could remotely resemble click fraud. Make reports of your findings and present them to the networks asking for refunds. I've only done this with G & Y but there's no way I'd use the crappy ones without doing this. If they won't, dump them.

7searchguys - please fuck off. your attempt at brand control is going to create the exact opposite effect of the one you're going for.

Hey Cleo,

I'm going to take you up on your offer, and will feedback the outcome to the forum. I will PM you the details of my campaigns.

The way I see it, you are making a generous offer, and if you can produce the results then you deserve my ongoing business. As long as I can get a reasonable ROI from your services you will have my dollars.
 
Those are tough sources to make work, but honestly, you probably just haven't tested enough. My experience has been that really have to test a lot of different keywords, ad copy, and landing pages to make any traffic source work.

I've had some luck with Ad Brite and DCPV and there are plenty of others that use 2nd tier search. I would suggest picking one traffic source and focus on that rather than jumping around.
