I'm an affiliate of a company, what I'm currently doing is republishing their Videos on my Youtube account & using their videos on my website.

Is this an okay thing to do? I believe they are open to their affiliates using their contents, but am not sure and would like to know how this typically works. Wouldn't they be happy about affiliates using their official OEM content instead of some silly video I'd put together myself?

Thanks!

You need to contact affiliate manager of the company about this. If he/ she allows the republishing its video, you can do it. If otherwise, you only can embed its Youtube video into your website.

If you are accused that you violate the copyright then your affiliate account will be suspended. And maybe Youtube account also....

Only the person who's shiz you're pumping will be able to tell you that.

It may well be someone from here - in which case PM them.

Ask them.

Personally, I'd not like it. I'd rather you put together all the silly videos you want. Rank them, drive sales.

As himanuzo mentioned, embedding would be fine for me, which is why our videos have that setting enabled.

As far as making your own silly videos, the only thing I'd not like are inaccurate statements about the product, unrealistic customer expectations, etc. That will cause returns to rise, which isn't in anyone's interest.

If you were a video wiz and wanted to mash up our videos into something, we'd probably approve of it, but that would be a special case.

Okay I'm asking them.

By the way, while researching some of their terms & conditions I came upon an area about video/media that they produce. They mention they completely own rights to the materials (standard) - but then it mentions they transfer rights of use of these materials to their affiliates/partners. That seems pretty favorable to me, but legal jargon can be tough to decipher.

As many people said here. Ask the your Network. Every merchant has different opinions on what they do and don't like. There's definitely no Rhyme or reason to it.

Hit me up if you want I may know the merchant and their policies.
