Rick Santorum Endorsed By Megadeth Frontman Dave Mustaine
The Huffington Post Anna Staver

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has picked up a campaign endorsement from Megadeth's Dave Mustaine.

The heavy metal band's leader told MusicRadar.com what he thought about each of the four Republican presidential candidates:

“... You know, I think Santorum has some presidential qualities, and I'm hoping that if it does come down to it, we'll see a Republican in the White House... and that it's Rick Santorum."

Weighing in on the rest of the field, Mustaine called Newt Gingrich an “angry little man” and said Ron Paul will “make total sense for a while, and then he'll say something so way out that it negates everything else.”

As for Mitt Romney, the rocker said, “I've got to tell you, I was floored the other day to see that Mitt Romney's five boys have a $100 million trust fund. Where does a guy make that much money? So there's some questions there.”

Still, Mustaine would pick any of the GOP candidates over President Barack Obama.

This isn't Mustaine's first foray into presidential politics.
According to his record label Road Runner Records, Mustaine gave an interview to Pit Magazine in October 2004, in which he said, "[John] Kerry is a mistake. He will ruin our country."
Mustaine didn't return a request for comment.

What the fuck is it with republicans attacking Romney for being rich? There are like a million other things to attack him on that doesn't make you look like a hypocrite.

Santorum is scary. From a recent interview:

One of the things I will talk about that no president has talked about before is I think the dangers of contraception in this country, the whole sexual libertine idea... It's not okay because it's a license to do things in the sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be. They're supposed to be within marriage, for purposes that are, yes, conjugal... but also procreative.

That's the perfect way that a sexual union should happen. We take any part of that out, we diminish the act. And if you can take one part out that's not for purposes of procreation, that's not one of the reasons, then you diminish this very special bond between men and women, so why can't you take other parts of that out? And all of a sudden, it becomes deconstructed to the point where it's simply pleasure. And that's certainly a part of it--and it's an important part of it, don't get me wrong--but there's a lot of things we do for pleasure, and this is special, and it needs to be seen as special. Again, I know most presidents don't talk about those things, and maybe people don't want us to talk about those things, but I think it's important that you are who you are. I'm not running for preacher.

I'm not running for pastor, but these are important public policy issues.

Again:

I'm not running for pastor, but these are important public policy issues.

Well, he is from Virginia and technically it is already regulated there.

LOL who the hell thinks it's ok to tell people what they can and can't do in the bedroom.
And even worse what kind of idiots vote for these idiots?

WTF? Does anyone know what he's talking about here? Is this just fear talking, like the media has brainwashed him into thinking that Paul is a dithering old nutjob?

Look, there is well off, kinda rich, really rich, and extremely friggin' rich.

...None of these can be applied to Romney tho, who has more money to his name than many governments have ever seen. (And pays taxes on it like a nonprofit organization does. D'oh!)

Worse yet, he got this rich as an elected official... Anything here smell a bit fishy to you guys?

Because its an easy play. The government has been running so many ads and news stories trying to hurt the "rich" (so the government can acquire fatter paychecks and money for themselves), its an easy play and already embedded in peoples minds.

DAVE MUSTAINE has issued the following statement to clarify reports that he has endorsed Rick Santorum for president:
“Contrary to how some people have interpreted my words, I have not endorsed any presidential candidate. What I did say was that I hope to see a Republican in the White House. I’ve seen good qualities in all the candidates but by no means have made my choice yet. I respect the fact that Santorum took time off from his campaign to be with his sick daughter, but I never used the word ‘endorse.’”
