RIP John Hughes

Died today at 59 of a heart attack.

He made tons of classic movies from my teen years, but Ferris Bueller's Day Off stands out as my first favourite movie that I could watch over and over again, even to this day.

He wrote Home Alone, also. So along with MJ, two people that were big parts of Macaulay Culkin's life have passed pretty close in time.

Wow he was a genius I had no idea he was behind all these:

"National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983), "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (1986), "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" (1987) and "Home Alone" (1990) "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club" and "Some Kind of Wonderful"

All set and/or filmed in the Chicago area except "Some Kind of Wonderful". John Hughs seemed to love making movies there.

That's a shame. At first I thought it was Jeffrey Jones(I didn't know the name at the time) because of the youtube video. I was about to say, he didnt do too much other then become a sex offender.

Thoughts and prayers with the family. God bless him! Fantastic film maker!

Adding to what Maxsteve said, FBDO is that type of movie that I can even watch on cable tv while waiting for commercials.
We lost a great one.
