RobinHood opening doors for free stock trading

I don't get why people are excited for this. I pay like $1 commissions on trades in interactivebrokers. These brokers don't make money from commissions, they make it from selling order flow to market makers/HFTs etc.

Robinhood is offering zero commissions yes, but thats because they're gonna sell the order flow to the highest bidder - Which is the real cost, adverse executions.

Bank of America / ML has 30 free trades a month, so the free trades isn't that unique imo. They also pay you up to $600 to open an account with them.

If you transfer a buttload of money into E-Trade they will give you more free trades than you will know what to do with
