Ron Paul Media Blackout Confirmed - Yahoo! News

Ron Paul loyalists have been vindicated. After months of observations that the mainstream media was ignoring the libertarian standard-bearer, a new study by the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism shows just that: the Texas Congressman, who has consistently polled in the high single digits -- Real Clear Politics's aggregate poll currently has him at 8 percent -- has received the least overall coverage of any candidate. From May 2 to October 9, Paul appeared as the "primary newsmaker in only 2% of all election stories."

Thoughts?

Thoughts?

It does not take a research center to disclose this (or validation from one).

:censure:
Media blackouts happen regarding a variety of subjects. It is par for the course if one is to entertain news media as a source of information. Being ignorant of this fact, in denial or obtuse to it as general practice across a wide variety of topics and not merely the topics one favors is quite sophomoric.

It is an very real and unfortunate part of today's society.

:2twocents:

The real question is why have this years' plethora of candidates not effectively engaged in use of the long tail, thus rendering corporate media useless?

Crying about mainstream media in a day and age where effective mobile communication and alternative media can topple governments is silly.

Mind you that last comment is somewhat tongue in cheek.

Does this also mean the polls are BS too? Every time I see one, Ron Paul seems to be losing ground.

Haha, Gary Johnson is so ignored that he even gets ignored in a study about the ignored.

Well, I can confirm the blackout is still ongoing, without a single fucking mention of "Ron Paul" after the debate concluded and CNN "analyzed" it. They mentioned all other 6 candidates. They simply refuse to mention his name. They couldn't make it anymore obvious of their bias against him, jesus.

I think this was intentional, but he's also not polling any where near what RP and other supposed top tier candidates are.

Also, tomorrow is a donation day. You can pledge to donate here

According to Trevor Lyman, who helped organized the big money bombs 4 years ago, there have been more pledges this time around than on Ron's record setting 6 mil dollar day. Hopefully it will turn out huge.
