RSS Content on a standard PHP site

I'm looking for a free solution that will allow me to display rss content on a regular php site (non-wordpress). I've seen stuff like RSS 2 Java but was wondering if there's anything else out there.

I'm also wondering if there's a way to strip the links from an rss feed. Is this possible?
