I've been running a couple of accounts on MySpace and I'm the type that replies to comments every now and then to gain exposure :yin-yang: And I noticed a profile yesterday placing an affiliate banner (for dating I believe).

Up until now, I've been using MySpace to promote my own websites, never thought of affiliates. So here's my question, "Can I run affiliate programs on MySpace and will it infringe on MySpace TOS or CJ TOS (since I use CJ Affiliate Programs)?"

Or do I need to check the affiliate offer rules to see if they specifically mention MySpace? Thanks!

Most affiliates have banned myspace traffic. It is crap, if you do intend to do some myspace aff marketing, just cover your tracks like crazy. Redirect, use your own domains and scale that bizatch

I figured they would..Well redirection is always an easy option :)

I dont think it works.. myspace doesnt have enough users to make any money from them.
The best thing about CJ is that it's HUGE..There are bound to be a ton of those free offers which get you a couple of cents per signup. I plan on targeting the dating and chat affiliates mostly and I know MySpace users would easily fall for that :love-smiley-085:<-- Just get a picture of a girl and say they can find her on that site or something

I'll probably have to think out what I plan on doing though

I don't know if that comment was funnier or the fact that he took it serious.
Heh well there are a lot of people that you can use, it's just limited on how many you can get a day - I just hate the CAPTCHA that MySpace uses..

And not all offers will convert great. Any offer requiring a Credit Card would be nearly useless on MySpace, wouldn't it?

Sounds like your ready to make 100 grand!

I have gottent .50 epc with ringtones, .40 with email/zip submits.. .37 with form signups. But thats with prequalification. you need hundreds of thousands of eyes on your stuff to make money.

I couldn't find any offers above $1, but I just did a cursory glance, so I'll take a harder look tomorrow.

Of course it's free traffic, but I want the most out of it :)

The myspace gurus who are banking big don't use adders or have to worry about capchas.

They create phishing worms using quicktime and steal tens or even hundreds of thousands of accounts in a matter of days. The scrips also send a few private messages to random accounts for each person infected. Then they spam the shit out of them long after the patch. Even the crappiest CPA program will make a ton of money if you have thousands of accounts (you can also obtain 1000's accounts from a lazy phisher who forgets to hide his .txt file :) properly)and your sending millions of messages to random users. The actual script is exceedingly complicated.

Without the use of a worm making money with myspace and CPAs is a tall order and you are better off instead building scraper adsense spam. Sure zip and email submit is easy but free ipod free nano? Cmon gimmick anyone?

If you look beyond CJ, you'll see those magical offers above $1. Look at people's sigs (and mine) in this thread.

[09:05] tippylova22: I'll upgrade you to VIP status for the show so its free for you if you promise not to mention that in the chat room lol... promise ??
[09:10] Sureal96: nah its cool
[09:10] Sureal96: cant believe you sit there all day fielding ims
[09:10] Sureal96: is it worthwhile?
[09:11] tippylova22: well because you have to be 18 (nudity involved), u gotta login with a credit card..BUT once you sign-in, just tell me your screen-name and I'll make it VIP (as I do for my friends). but u cannot mention this in the chatroom.. I can get in trouble ---> Livecamzz.com/hunny
[09:11] Sureal96: or are you just hired to answer ims
[09:12] tippylova22: Also, don't give anyone your username/password..?:-X k login...maybe i'll give u my cell number and we can hang out sometime soon?

I think it was an indian hired to answer pms, but you could probably do it yourself.

Yeah right. Anyone who says you can make 100 grand on myspace is full of shit. The myspace users don't fall for anything. I guess they are just too crafty when it comes to the internet. If only there was some way to trick them....

Spot on, but I might add you can make just as much, if not more, with legit accounts - and you still never see one CAPTCHA. I wouldn't say any of the attacks/scripts are overly complicated though, simple javascript.
