That's a pretty good idea actually. Mobile network that makes you listen to ads before making an outgoing call, and shows ads on the LCD screen for a few seconds before allowing you to access your phone. Seems that cell phones and the infrastructure could make something like this cost effective now or in the near future.
 
It's not a penny less, it's $70 less. If you add the price of one month's service, then it's a penny less than the iPhone without service. I don't understand what point the article is trying to make.

Seriously, I get pissy enough at my phone for not having open dialing tone like a landline that gives me instant access. If I had to put up with ads before I called people, just so I could call them for less?
Fuck no, I'll pay my shitty $0.30/30sec instead if that's the case.

And putting ads on my phone's screen during non-talk time!
No... fucking... way...
I have enough shit on my screen, I have enough problems dealing with shitty connectivity speeds thanks to backwards infrastructure from retard ITC Ministers who don't know good policy and I have enough crap draining my battery life without having to run animations.

Sorry, this isn't a personal attack. I just hate mobile companies, and think they'll do this if anyone actually mentions it to them...
I already have issues with the ads on MSN
