Scientologist Advertisers - Acai, ResV, etc.

For all of you not familiar with Scientology, you can go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology_controversies to read up on it.

Earlier today I was doing some R&D for my rebill offers, when I stumbled upon an offer on Mediatrust - acairipped.com. I thought it was pretty funny that the homepage went to an error page if any of the fields weren't put in correctly, instead of staying on the homepage. It was also funny they used the same CRM I use, so I did some simple investigating and saw their domain was on ugpint.com.

ugpint.com redirects to the homepage of Ultra Green Products - Ultra Green Products .::.:.::.. They have a "Dr. Reed" talking about Acai, Resv, etc. on their landing pages and homepage. In my opinion, he doesn't seem like a real doctor so I continue sleuthing around. On their About Us page, they list 4 "naturopathic medical doctors", with a lot of very interesting accreditations:

Mehran Ghazvini, DC, NMD
Rene M. Reed, DC, DABCO, NMD
Bill Huggins, NMD, HMD, DSc
Konky Sotomayor, NMD, DVMZ

DC? NMD? DABCO? DSc? DVMZ?

A simple Google for Rene M. Reed pulls up:

I am making no judgements about scientology nor the above company's business practices. However this is just a coincidence I noticed, since I am an advertiser as well.

New offer on the network: SciForce Max: Scientology membership for $79.95/mo rebilled til death. Consumer get a free e-meter with every order. Asking for a refund subject to death by suffocation. $8,500 CPA

It's not incredibly hard to fathom, really. The church of Scientology has done crazy shit before, and there's no reason to think they haven't caught on to affiliate marketing. I'm not saying just Scientology either, there's no reason to think other big organizations aren't trying to pad their pockets.

This is friggin' hilarious. Scientologists, in my opinion, are the looniest bunch of people in existence - beyond the Jim Jones massacre even.

-- 1980 Suicide: The woman suffered from depression, but was not permitted to take any medication for it.
-- 1980 Josephus A. Havenith, 45. This was a puzzling death: the victim was found in a bathtub full of boiling hot water. Supposedly the cause of death was drowning, but--oddly--the victim's head was above water. Havenith's skin had begun to peel off due to the extremely hot temperature of the bath water.
-- 1988 Death by drowning. Unexplained circumstances, accident, murder or suicide.
-- 1989 Death in the basement near the boilers, carbon monoxide poisoning.
-- 1988 German native Heribert Pfaff, 31, died of an apparent seizure in room 758. Scientologists had strongly discouraged the victim from taking physician-prescribed anti-seizure medication that he desperately needed.
-- 2007 David Hans Schmidt, 47. Committed "suicide" by hanging "himself" at his apartment while on house arrest in Arizona after after trying to extort money from Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes with his nefarious "wedding photos" he had of them. Investigators on the scene noticed that the cord that he used to "hang himself" with in his shower stall was so low, that he would have had to have squatted for him to strangle "himself". Natural human reflexes make his "self"-strangulation impossible.

The last thing it needs is an affiliate program.

what is funny and simultaneously disgusting is that not one of you thinks to actually go to the Scientology website and see what it actually is.
Scientology has bad press where it does because it has cut across just about every vested interest in preaching that people are spiritual beings not just bodies.
just about anything one could by is for their body including pharma which is about as corrupt a crew as one could find.
don't be so quick to buy into the spew from vested interests, primarily through the mass media without at least giving the subject and its discoveries and teachings and methodologies at least a look.
otherwise i can assure that Dianetics and Scientology is not selling anything but Dianetics and Scientology. Scientologists can be in any business that they want to be in, just like anyone else can, but that doesn't mean that the Church involved.
anway, ALL i am beating the drum for is not listening to the same people that we know lie to us about wars and drugs and the economy and everything else in order to protect corporate interests when the same crew talks about Scientology. its just a wee bit unfair.

No, it has bad press because it planted wiretaps in our government, has labor camps, and has been frequently accused of keeping people by using recorded "audit" sessions against them.

Pharma is not a cult. Pharma influences legally, by lobbying. Let's call your distaste for pharma what it is: Scientologists do not believe in modern day psychology or medication.
They then attempt to use fake rehabilitation clinics as recruitment centers because it's where ex 'addicts' are most looking for redemption, and a cult not believing in most forms of medication fits that bill perfectly. That is all utterly disgusting to me.

First hand sources work too.
You can hear it from the mouths of the people who left. Or you can look to L. Ronn Hubbard: (R2-45 Order - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
I'll edit this to reply to the rest in a minute. I have to run for now.

I hate all religions, frankly I think they all are a bunch of shit. Scientology is no different to me than say Christianity. I think you all are wackos.

btw, i will leave you to yourselves but play nicely ok
i have found that in these environments there is very little value to hang around
people just get into a frenzied orgy of spew and hatred and dramatization
they can put all that effort and energy into their hate, prejudice and attacks but can't even take a look at the site itself and learn about things like
the affinity-reality-communication triangle
the emotional tone scale
the study technology
the communication formula
the drug rehab technology
L Ron Hubbard's professional contribtions in 21 fields of activity ranging from horticulture (the rip off of these discoveries was the begining of the new age movement) to photography (some classic stuff) to music (did an album with Edgar Winter) to ship navigation to expeditions recognized with admiration by the prestigious Explorers's Club and so on and so forth.
So if they can't meet me half way and reach beyond their hatreds and cherished false information to find out about even one bit of over 3000 hours of recorded lectures on discovery into the mind and spirit and all the rest of it then i cant spend time hanging around with such bigoted idiots.

Rage... thanx
just saw yours as i was leaving.
there is a difference,
i agree with you, and so would Hubbard, that other religions are just control operations.
"have faith! we are the road by which you can have faith" when all each and every one of us is all the truth and faith that there ever will be.
the difference?
Scientology is tools used to increase awareness and ability
it is YOUR ability and awareness that is being raised.
it has NOTHING to do with faith, belief or fairytales.
the truth that you discover by USING scientology is YOUR truth based on YOUR obseravation
so much controversy over an applied philosophy that says that YOU have the answers, we have the questions and the methodology but the answers are YOURS
and that can be controversial? come on!

I read dianetics before, and it does contain a lot of good ideas. Interestingly enough, the "good" ideas in the book are stolen from the cultures that hubbard visited in his early adult life. Then hubbard takes those good ideas, mixes them with his own homophobic and delusional perspective and then calls them his own for financial gain. Garko, maybe you should do a little research before defending an organization on cult watch lists. Since the dawn of time there have been men preaching that we are more than just bodies. That is absolutely a weak and unsubstantiated argument as to why such a large population of humanity admonishes scientology.
