SearchLounge.com Spammed My Email - Shouldn't A "Director Of Operations" Know Better?

Good news everyone!

Today you get another thread putting a no-name network on blast. The good part is, it's not from a one-post-wonder, but rather your favorite WickedFire member, dullspace.

Yesterday, I received this unsolicited commercial email from Tiffany Lee. She is the Director of Operations at SearchLounge. Evidently, SearchLounge is trying to trying to drum up business by emailing lists of industry folk. I think they should instead focus on some search engine optimization. It would be really cool if they were on the front page of Google for their own company name.

Even still, they decided to not include an opt-out link or opt-out mailing address.

So ask yourself, before you decide to sign up for another nobody-network: do I really want to work with people who can't understand the most basic law regarding how they advertise? I sure wouldn't.

• Add your postal address to all email (CAN-SPAM section 5(a)(3) and 5(a)(5)(A)(iii)).

• If your email list isn't opt-in or double opt-in ("prior affirmative consent"), include a clear notice that states the email is an advertisement or solicitation in commercial messages (CAN-SPAM section 5(a)(5)(A)(i)).

• Include a "clear and conspicuous" unsubscribe mechanism in every email (CAN-SPAM section 5(a)(5)(A)(ii)).
