Seinfield accepts CLIO award, brilliantly mocks consumerism

"i think spending your life trying to dupe innocent people out of hard won earnings to buy useless low-quality misrepresented items and services is an excellent use of your energy."

damn right, jerry. damn right. preach the gospel, brother.

He's going for that righteous indignation dollar. That's a good dollar.

Just watched Jerry's acceptance speech. It baffles me that people in the crowd kept laughing and applauding throughout. His entire speech was basically degrading them, their values, and their pursuits in life, but because "he's a comedian", they kept laughing. Goes to show that a lot of us as ad people and marketers are just as sheeplike as the people we sell to.

The CLIO Awards are the advertising industry's equivalent of young girls on Myspace telling each other how beautiful they look in their photos.
