Have any of you done this before? Any tips? Trying to get rid of a vehicle fast to generate some startup capital for another business.

It's taking longer than is acceptable.

Any tips would be appreciated.

1. Detail the shit out of the car, or just pay someone to do it like I do.

2. Take lots of good photos, don't use a shit iPhone camera. Take real ones. Front, back, door panels, etc... leave nothing to the imagination. You should have like 20-30 photos

3. Write a damn good description including any recent maintenance that has been done. Has the passenger seat only been sat in by Playboy models? Write that shit down.

4. Research the price of your vehicle on Edmunds.com. Fuck Kelly Blue Book and others, their prices are inflated.

4. Post it on Craigslist, Kijiji, Backpage first for $250 under Edmunds private party value. Wait about 2 weeks. If you don't get any bites/sales on it then pay the money and list it on Autotrader.com as a "featured listing" and Cars.com.

5. Stick a big ass orange for sale sign on it and park it at the end of your driveway facing the street.

6. If its still not sold in 60 days then sell it for scrap and wash your hands of it, or just set it on fire somewhere and watch that mutha burn.

Last summer I sold my ride. Posted it on CL for about a month and had nothing but tire kickers. Paid for a featured ad on Autotrader and she sold in less than a week. I got full price for it too.

Gonna look into this. Thanks.

Where are you located? If you are near me, I might buy it.

Dealership guy here...

1. Craigslist. Re-post your AD every 2 days, over and over for the next 30 days.

Include your phone #, lots of photos, and above all: *A description.

Don't pussy out and be like 6-cylinder, 5k miles, tan interior, blah, blah.

Write a story about your car. How much you loved it, serviced it, cleaned it, etc. How great it runs, etc.

* Phone number is KEY. Don't worry, just post your real #.

IF you cannot sell it in 30 days then go to a dealership. Typically if the CL market doesn't want it, you need to load it off onto a dealership to deal with.

...

You can try to rear window for sale sign, etc too. Parking it wherever.

But 99% you'll fail.

The KEY: Get one of those jumbo paint markers. Mark every single window:

FOR SALE $4,391, 1 OWNER, CLEAN, RUNS EXCEPTIONAL! CALL: 888-888-8000 NOW!

Make this BIG BOLD. GRAB attention. Use 2-3 colors. Add some """ """" things or a star burst so it stands out.

Park it near the mall entrance for a day or so. Don't park it in some low traffic area park it where people HAVE money to spend, and are READY to spend it.

...

Go to every dealers site in your city. Email them, with a link to your CL ad. Ask them how much they will buy it for. Not trading in on a new car, just a cash sale.

BAM! 15 offers in a few days in your inbox.

....

I could go on...

But I'm tired and that's good info, and a solid 30 day plan.

Also if you take less than 15 photos you are going to FAIL.

Don't be a bitch, snap a lot of photos on a DECENT CAMERA. Don't use your POS cell phone.

CLEAN IT UP. REAL GOOD.

If your description is less than 400 words then just quit now. WRITE A 400+ WORD article about your car. Talk about how FAMILIES would be so comfortable and safe. HOW IT gets AMAZING gas mileage perfect for a teen driver. How it's roomy, good for the man who goes on trips or needs to haul shit.

Key: Don't be lazy.

Lazy doesn't make money.

Assuming it's not a death trap and you have the title with no leins recorded you can sell it almost instantly at any new car auto dealership. You will be paid the Galves price for the car, which is to say; whatever they could buy a like vehicle at a dealers auction for is what the car is worth to them. No it's not the top price you can get, but it is quick and clean. Just be sure to shop the number at a couple of other dealerships first, and don't go there on a weekend... They're too busy to dick around then.

cheap japanese car would be a great idea to start car used car business
I've sell few but I affiliated with trusted car dealers and gain few profits

good photos are v.important IMO, lots of daylight, good area, clean car, will help buyer confidence in the car.

I listed my car on AutoTrader and CL.

Post pictures of it and a short like 60 second video clip of you walking around it and inside of your car.

Someone ended up finding it on CL, driving 14 hours to me, buying it.
