So odd.. I mean you'd expect a massive, sophisticated government like the US to be able to balance a budget, come to order, etc. There's absolutely no logical reason they can't.. I watched a speaker presentation about how it's all just one big con to keep the American people rallying and arguing over politics. And the government knows exactly what they are doing, they aren't stupid.. Do people really think this debt is that serious? It isn't, it means nothing.. Like the US would really let go of all their interests/power and put it in jeopardy because some children can't balance a budget.
I mean they are able to get people to use their currency, and they even have the same people willing to die and fight to protect it. And for what reason or benefit to those people? None, instead they get taxed, lol it's just incredible how fucked over citizens are.. Good luck starting your own currency too, the government protects their own interests very well..

The Republican House was and is the problem with passing something even with Boners plan.. so if there's a problem it will still be the house... but yet the markets and media are in elation. There's some type of weird ass presumptuous peer pressure going on right now for the house.

I'm absolutely certain none of this is planned, especially not the timing. This is actually how the world's superpower operates, I'm certain of it. None of this is decided behind closed doors months or years in advance, and it all actually does unfold as CNN and Fox News says.

No. You would expect such a government to do exactly what it is doing today. This is something we have been talking about on this board for a long time. You don't need to understand economics or political philosophy. You can practically tell the future by noting how individuals respond to incentives and disincentives.
Once you start to see politicians as murderous, thieving sociopaths, you will wonder whether governments need exist at all.
The moment politicians in the United States were able to offer direct financial incentives to the electorate in exchange for votes was the moment "democracy" died. I'll give you a hint, it happened in 1913.

Well that's the thing... they don't. These fuckers can't decide shit, they simply pushed sequestration talks back two months and then they'll probably push it again because no one has any balls to make any cuts.
hah, the CBO just said this deal would actually INCREASE the deficit by 4 trillion in the next 9 yrs. Funny what happens when you throw shit together at the last second just to fake progress. Now it likely won't pass the house tonight IMO. Hopefully there's chaos and turmoil in the market tomorrow.

In order to eliminate the deficit, we'd need to eliminate the entire military and several other departments.
A few killer combos I can see working:
Entire Military budget + All of Social Security
Entire Military budget + veterans affairs, DEA, FBI, department of education, reductions to medicare
Health and human services + social security
All of these are apocalyptic in terms of unemployment rates hitting the roof, but something needs to give.
1.5m personnel in the US military, for example.
Regardless, things are going to melt down due to insolvency.
