(Note to mods - wasn't sure if this was better suited here or T&C, but just posted here anyway. If better for T&C, please move. Thanks.)
Ok, let's say you have a blog that you've applied your ninja-SEO to and is getting good traffic. Your monetization method on the site focused solely on getting the opt-in (no adsense or anything else) so you can lead prospects into a sales funnel.
What sort of call to action do you like / find most effective to maximize opt-ins?
-pop-up?
-opt-in footer (like opt-in crusher)?
-sidebar opt-in form?
-opt-in form between posts (a la the 'What Would Seth Godin Do' plugin)?
-opt-in form right in the post itself (i.e. call to action of the post is to opt-in)?
-call to action of the post is to click on a link that goes to a squeeze page?
-opt-in post stickied at top of blog?
-a combination of the above?
-something totally different?
I know different shit will work for different niches and all that. But as a general rule, what do you like to use/do?
And if you're SEOing a blog for the sake of collecting opt-ins, do you like to still have multiple posts on the TLD? Just one post that has a call to action of opt-ing in? Just snippets of content? (Thinking of - given all other things...esp SEO...being equal - how much content on the TLD ends up being 'too much' in that it ends up distracting from getting people to opt-in...)
