Hi WF members,

Now I know that you can pretty much search for anything IM related on here but I have found sometimes whilst reading articles I can feel a bit lost at points with terminologies, Method references etc. That is probably be due to my lack of knowledge in the area or questionably my lack of knowledge...pun.

My question is, is there a online courses that anyone has undertaken already / knows of that would help the learning process of IM and which of the pages below might just be a waste of time going through?

Go through course / infowebsite >> Gain better understanding of the basics >> Re-approach in depth articles with a better understanding.

A few examples I have seen are the following:

DistilledU
SEOmoz
Link Building Course by PointblankSEO
academy.hubspot(dot)com

Thanks in advance. :bootyshake:

Internet marketing is not simply SEO. SEO is a part of internet marketing, however it's neither the alpha and the omega of online marketing.

Fair shout I should probably be more careful about what I ask, especially after spending a hour or so reading TheHobbsters post on [Long-Term] Minimal SEO Authority Site.

I guess I should ask If and which of the resources I linked are worth looking at to improve SEO knowledge.

I was an absolute seobook fan when i started out. Since then it was recontructed into an e-learning course, i'm sure its a worthwhile startpoint. Seobook.com

I'd second seobook.com - good stuff. Reading in the enlightened section of this forum would also be a good place to start. I see you mentioned hubspot blog which is all fine and dandy, but I'd also suggest reading Marcus Sheridan's free ebook from his site here. That book straight up blew my mind.

If you're looking for an introduction to link building, check out Neil's guide here: QuickSprout Advanced guide to link building. Also check out Mixergy for some inspiration and insight. Take a look at Glen's blog on ViperChill too.

But most of all, don't be afraid of trying new things. Take action and record what works and what doesn't. Learning hands on is the best thing you can do.

Hope that helps!

Can't explain better in a single sentence . For me though - SEO is learning by experience .

Forget about seo courses... unless done by some black haters. The only people you can trust, are black haters, shit you not.

LOL. I found that funny: you misspelled the word haters with one T, whereas it should have 2 Ts. It's interesting how a single T can make a big difference.
