Hi, noob here.

I'm ranking a website for a specific product. I have found an exclusive seller. We wish to establish an affiliate relationship where I link to his site, sending him qualified traffic, hoping those I send convert and buy his product. This guy does not have any affiliates or system set up, and I am not knowledgeable in how to facilitate this. The onus is on me to establish some sort of tracking. Is it relatively simple to set up some sort of tracking on both ends so we know where clicks are coming from and when my traffic converts? I am not very technical, would it also be reasonable to hire someone to set this up?

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks

There are a variety of methods. If they want to spend $99/month, use HasOffers, otherwise set up something like eJunkie's affiliate program for $5/month. If they are using a good shopping cart, sometimes there will be integrated tracking options, or a 3rd-party tracking system that can be integrated, so find out which cart they use and then do a search for 'affiliate tracking (name of cart)'.

Thanks for the reply,
Ok that is great, glad to have somewhere to start, very helpful.
