I currently have a Galaxy S and for the most part it has been a great phone. The only issue I have had which is a right pain is the automatic rebooting. I have sent it back 2 times and have had firmware updates applied. The latest of which totally kills the battery but that is not a big deal for me.

I got a call from the phone company and they have offered to pay over 50% of early breaking of contract fee and to send out an S3 if I was interested. looking at the reviews and from the few people I know who have one they say yes it is a good phone. being that I know what most of the reviews accuracy would be like I thought I would ask for fellow members suggestions.

Any ideas or thoughts?

The Galaxy S3 is considered the best Android (and maybe best smartphone period) on the market right now. It's worthy of its reviews.

I just got it.

Was at the store and dude was trying to help me choose between the S3 and the iPhone and or to wait for the iphone5 releasing in Sept. I haven't had a cell in almost 3 years and wow at the difference in tech since then. Happy with my S3 so far though it took a full day of youtubing to figure the thing out and to maximize the battery (it goes fucking quick if you don't optimize).

Most expensive phone I ever bought ($750 CAD, don't want the contract) but quite happy with it, I would get it.

Definitely, you should get it. iPhone's are more of the same and the innovation has stalled. But Androids have tremendous growth involved.

I've owned a lot of phones, the latest iPhone does not come close to the joy the S3 brings me.

Wow ok so it sounds like that is final then. I will be getting myself the S3!!! I saw something stupid with the provider though which I am not sure why they have done this but the 16GB option and the 32GB option are the free on the same plan!!!

It sounds like it can be battery hungry so I may need some help in optimizing it... Great advice guys thanks!!!

On a side note I was looking at the HTC OneX which also looked quite good but none the less I will be proceeding with the S3 then...

Only thing that pisses me off is you can't use the SD to store Apps I guess no biggie. They will have a 64 gig black version soon I heard.

With the new iPhone likely coming out in the next 30 days I would definitely wait.

Sorry to the Apple lovers out there... The Apple thing doesn't rock my boat... To me apples belong in pies not in my pocket ringing or on my desk wasting space... I would rather a symbian based phone than IOS...

Root it and put a custom ROM on it. All the major ROM developers have implemented this feature and many others that aren't included in a stock setup. I'd recommend CyanogenMod.

Or alternatively, look for an app calls "Apps To SD Card" which will let you move most apps once they are installed.

^^ pretty cool, I would look more into rooting my phone but I don't have the time to keep updating it... Not right now anyways, but thanks I didn't know a root could enable that.

You people obviously have no eye for quality. The S3 is an extremely cheap feeling phone. Take a look at the faux-metal rim around the phone, it's just plastic painted silver. Not only that, they didn't even bother sanding off the line left over by the plastic molding process. CMON!

HTC One X is a better phone overall. The build quality is much better, the screen is brighter. Has a slightly weaker battery than the S3 though.

S3 is incredible. That "light" feel compared to the iPhone - awesome! Makes the 4.8" screen and larger size fit into the pocket easily. Only wish I spent the extra $100 over my HTC (another bulky and heavy phone like the iPhone) when I renewed my Verizon contract to keep the unlimited data, which by the way is pretty sweet too. But nothing compared to the S3. Had my S2 for years also - even that one beat the iPhone in its time.

Ive owned the galaxy, evo and now the motorola photon - all I can say is I have a deep affection for the photon, its truly changed the way I phone.

granted, i dont watch HD TV on my phone and I don't listen to music, period, but as a business tool this thing is for cereal.

You should have 2 options....get an s3, or wait for iphone 5 and decide witch one you want.

Don't buy iphone 4s, it's not worth right now, considering iphone 5 will be launched in about a month.
