Site has been hacked...will this effect my rankings?

Im newer to SEO but managed to get my site to 4th position for 1st and 2nd KW, then yesterday it was hacked. If I reinstall wordpress then reupload everything will this hinder my rankings at all? Such a pain since its my first site and I put a lot of work into it, and it was starting to make a bit of money.

Did you rolled back the backup of the website again or have you placed new content ???. Also whats the url ?
 
Before reinstalling wordpress try deleting index.html if there is one. Typically when hackers hack a wordpress they will just add a index.html file. The default index file is index.php. If you delete the html file that should fix the issue.
 
everything is fixed now and back to normal thanks fort he help though. def will be backing up my sites regularly... how often do you guys do it?
 
Not as often as I should. If you fixed it before Google noticed all the bullshit on your site then you should be good.
