Boy bags hog said bigger than 'Hogzilla' - Yahoo! News

He said he shot the huge animal eight times with a .50-caliber revolver and chased it for three hours through hilly woods before finishing it off with a point-blank shot.

That pic is using clever angles, if you look at the other pics where the boy is right next to it it doesn't look nearly as impressive(though still impressive).

The story kinda saddens me though, as others have said on digg and such "Oh look the largest boar anyone has ever seen! Kill it!"

Sport hunting doesn't make sense to me, it's about as skillful as going to a range these days with all the things people take along to make the killing easier.

Damn. That trophy will take up his entire wall. And he'll have 10 freezers full of sausage. Haha. That's a tough kid, seeing as how just a 100 lb. boar can kill a grown man if he gets it in his mind to do so.

Don't lump all hunters into one category. Most hunters are some of the largest wildlife conservationists in existence. Additionally, hunting in many cases is necessary to prevent overpopulation. If animals (including boar) are allowed to overpopulate, disease and famine can run rampant. Finally, many hunters intentionally disregard most of the high-tech gear when hunting to preserve the challenge. This is especially true in boar hunting. Most of the time you have to physically stalk the animal and if you think there is no danger then you are fooling yourself. As I said in a previous post, a 100 lb boar can kill a grown man extremely easily given the chance.

Though I don't hunt nearly as much as I used to I don't like it when people that don't know what they are talking about dismiss hunting as cruelty.

You are correct sir. Every hunter I've ever known cares more about wildlife than the dirtbag hippies that hate hunters.

Having said that, I would still like to see that little shit hunt a boar with a spear.

hunting with a .50 cal revolver? Was he planning on getting up close and personal with a big ass boar or something?

There's a big difference between hunting for sport (like posh wankers fox hunting in England) and hunting for food. If all of the animal is used for food (or otherwise) then in many ways hunting is better than farming, especially intensive farming.

8 shots from a revolver might not be the most pleasant of deaths but this pig probably had a better life than one confined to a small pen.

I'm not against hunting, but if you're not going to get a good shot off, don't take it. It took him "3 hours" to kill the pig, that's just ridiculous.
