Product shots plz
How many times have you used the trusty pen, magic wand or lasso tool to get a simple product shot from an advertiser landing page or banner ad? Isn't it fun sifting through 3rd rate jpgs and gifs on google images?
Maybe your AM can get you these but IMO, you shouldn't have to ask and perhaps a little photoshop will get you there faster.
We need product shots to work with as a matter of course along with those banner ads and text creatives no one uses. Transparent backgrounds = win.
I signed up with MarketHealth today (fully aware they don't have the cleanest rep going). One thing really impressed me... hi-res product shots.

OK, you just came out with your Me-too product and are set to jump on the Oprah buzz-wagon. Please take the time to at least position it differently than every other offer out there. Coke tastes really similar to Pepsi. One is the choice of the new generation so we sell it to the kids. Coke is more about bringing people together. Hey pops, buy this. These little details help us market your product.
Out of desperation I have completely manufactured differences between products on review sites or read the ingredients of a supplement and tried to figure out how to place it against the others so the consumer at least feels they picking more than a label.
I have also laughed at the shit product reviews littering the web because we have no product information to work with and have to be amazingly creative to sell with what is given to us.
If you give affiliates a unified positioning message, people with be more apt to believe our sales copy since they have probably checked a few review sites and are now just getting confused. In the meantime they might have purchased a product that didn't try so hard to market to them, meaning the affiliate, network and advertiser all lost out.
