So Google is going to offer their own fiber optic internet service



This will be amazing if it could come to Aus... If I had a solid foundation I'd move there for it. Not really, but it'd be tempting. $300 for free internet (not sure how long it remains free for though), shit I'd pay for my whole street if it was lifetime free internet and set up a monster wifi network :P
 
Not sure if anyone noticed the $120 tv & internet package. That package is the most important package since cable tv was invented. This is the transition to internet tv and yet what has google done? They are giving you a set-top box and charging the same as the cable industry for tv and internet. This way they dont have to disrupt the market. They will just build the infrastructure and charge using the same broken model in use today.

My cable alone is almost that much. Plus did you notice the disclaimer...

Some channels will require an additional fee. This channel lineup is only a representative lineup and is subject to change. Actual lineup will be published when customers register for service.

I see your point though. They have the resources and money to go full tilt and own the internet tv and movie stream biz if they wanted.

I thought the same thing. I pay $82 for internet and cable, granted, i'm sure this internet is faster.

The free looks interesting and maybe in volume they'll pull the price of everything down?
 
I'm surprised more of you guys didn't wind up in panic mode, flailing your arms in the air like little girls.

When Google+ came out, it was all, "Ohhh, fuck Google! They already have my search queries, and e-mail! Now they want more!". That was just for a social network. Now they want every request you send on the internet, and there's no uproar??? Slackers! ;)
 
now a days i dont like google due to their evil ways.I have read on some forum/site ,google doesn't know how to spend their money.They are not technological company, just a search engine he claimed.Why google always want people to try only their products?

That's what the people in the Kansas suburbs are saying also instead of the shithole area in kc,mo where it's starting. Looks like the homeless will have first dibs.
