So I have been on CL the last 3 days looking for a new place to live when I found....

TRINIDAD OCEAN FRONT!!BEST LOCATION AND VIEW!!

I mean, the town population is like 350 people and the place is damn near in the middle of red wood national forrest...but cot damn son. And it's cheap.

I dunno, tempting as fuck...

I have like 50 days to move out of my current place and these are my current realistic options. Some of them are a bit expensive, would need to rent a room out or have Amanda get a part time job or some shit cause I don't really wanna be responsible for more than the $2500ish a month that I am paying now. All of them are in the mountains. Some are just outside of Denver and a few are on the other side of Colorado.

The main thing I am going for is a house in the mountains / out of the city.

Amazing Home in Black Forest - This is my favorite, so fucking awesome. Also has an 8 car garage, not sure why I need that but whatever.
Home for rent/ Blackforest
Green Built Home for Rent
Mountain top 36 acre Estate with 360 views - huge house
Displaced Home Owners - Lease/Purchase - the log cabin feel is a little cheesy but it's in a great location and is newly built
4 Bedroom w/Office, 3.75 Bath Home on 1.25 Acres
**BLACK FOREST RESERVE** SPACIOUS RANCHER OVER 4,000 SQ.FT**2.53 ACRE - this is in a gated community but is surrounded by woods. Also, can probably get hard wired internet here and not have to use satellite internet like the rest of the places. It's also pretty cheap. This house probably makes the most sense for me to get both financially and in terms of internet speeds.
Aspen Glen Home - its in aspen and it's fucking retarded nice, but its a bit too expensive I think...but fuck it is def nice.
Home with acreage
4 bd on 40 acres - nice, on 40 acres

Why don't you buy nigga? Aren't you tired of paying somebody else's mortgage?

+ don't you find most of these houses waaay too big for just 2 people? I mean do you really need 5 bedrooms?

Get the acreage. Nothing better than firing your illegally modified AR15 off your front porch in the morning .... in the nude.

I have bad credit, otherwise I'd buy.

And yes, they are too big. The issue is, I wanna move to the mountains and it's impossible to find a 2 or 3 bedroom house in the mountains that isn't a piece of shit quality-wise on the inside of the house.

I can get a 2-3 bedroom in the mountains but there will be no granite counters, hardwood floors, or marble bathrooms, etc.

I want the interior quality that I have now, only in the mountains so it's kind of a weird situation.

just because you can doesnt mean you should

I like the Aspen Glen and the newer construction Green Built

I've been looking for a new place to live and this is my biggest problem. Its just me and my girlfriend so we don't need 4000+ sq ft. but anything smaller than that is just peasant housing. Formica counter tops!? Ceramic tile!? Closet is bigger than the master shower!? Fuck!

I've always thought there was a market for smaller luxury homes, with acreage but no one really builds them. We've decided to say fuck it and just find some land and build what we want ourselves, the only downside is finding the right person to buy it when I'm ready to move. There aren't too many young, family-less, wealthy, yet practical people out there.

damn, I miss Colorado. My cousin lives in Pueblo and I absolutely love the west coast, especially Colorado. It's so damn cheap for these houses to rent compared to the east coast. I'm tempted to move out there soon.

BTW, can you get a good internet connection? Some of those pictures look like the houses are in a forest with nothing else.

Yea, it's fucked up. If you want an actual quality house to rent it's not easy to find.

I totally depleted the Colorado CL inventory of rentals so I started looking in other cities and states. Most of the cities don't even have nice rentals.

Florida, Vegas, Minnesota, some spots in Cali, Washington, and Oregon have some pretty sick rentals for reasonable prices. The rest of the country has total shit quality homes for rent or idiotic prices like S.F. and N.Y.

I think the problem is the people who can afford $3k - $4k rent per month mostly have good credit and just buy homes. Not very many white trash fuck faces like myself who have the cash but not the credit.

Na man, gonna have to use satellite...not exactly thrilled about it.

Yup that is the same problem I'm having. I don't need anything bigger than 2000 sq ft but I'm having a hard time finding something that is small but really high quality.

Want big, secluded, and ocean in the US? Oregon coast. Some awesome shit within your budget last time I looked. Not a lot of options on CL, find a listing and call the agent they usually have a couple others or know of some, but you can get a nice place for under 3k.

No. No. No. NO. Get two services. Or three. My parents live in the mountains and they have satellite, fucking awful. I mean, dialup awful - sure, it's faster than dialup, but that 2-3 second lag EVER DAMN CLICK? Fuck me.

Man avoid satellite like the plague. 2500-10000ms response times, bandwidth caps, bad weather kills it.

If you can afford it get a T1 or 2 bonded T1's run to the house. You're looking at 1.5mbps (3mbps for bonded), but you get your own circuit on the network, a serious SLA, an 8ip block (5 usable) and guaranteed bandwidth. Only downside is its about $400-600 a month per T.

If you HAVE to go satellite setup a caching DNS server in house so you're not having to wait for a 2.5-10 second hop just to do a lookup. Shit gets old real quick.

I think as time goes on there will be a serious market for these homes. Most intelligent money makers aren't having kids, and don't want them.

I looked in that area and the homes are sick as fuck and priced great. However, I feel like it's a little disrespectful to leave the state/area that my biggest client is in. I mean, I can and it wouldn't be a big issue for him. But I have a meeting every Wednesday at their offices to talk about strategies, leads, and other things that are going on so if I leave the state I wouldn't be able to do that anymore and I know they like the meetings so I dunno.

What do you mean get two services or three? Satellite is the only option. You mean get 2 or 3 instances of the satellite connection running?

Get wireless over cellular. It's what I have. And I live here.

I'll look into it but don't they ass rape you on bandwidth? And isnt the connection fairly shit anyway? I've actually never tried tethering my laptop so not sure how well it works.

Wouldn't it cost like $50k to get them to run a line to the house?

Barry, I just moved so don't have proper broadband yet. I get 3-4 mbit raping tethering on my phone. It'll do for now, maybe forever. With the right provider, shit is cash. Disclaimer, I'm in a city, so probably have better reception than you would.
