So I put in my 2 weeks notice at work

I went to affiliate summit east last week and had a crazy good time. During the event I just realized I can't go back to work.

So on Monday after my vacation's over I walked into the office with my letter of resignation in my backpocket. I go to my cubicle and there's a box with all my stuff in it with a note from my boss saying "come see me."

I'm sitting there in shock, wtf? I'm thinking somehow my boss found out I was about to quit, and decided to fire me as a pre-emptive strike. I was sitting there for like 5 minutes thinking if I fucked up somehow before I left on vacation. 10 minutes later my co-workers told me it was prank since I always pull stuff on them when they go on vacation. Ahh those fuckers got me goooood!

Anyways I talked to my boss about leaving and everything went fine. What's funny now is my co-workers don't believe I'm leaving, and think this is some elaborate joke by me to get back at them.

But anyways...whoo hoo I'm full time!

Just make sure you've got some good hobbies to keep you R&Red and that you don't work too hard on your IM either.
Everyone says how awesome it would be to not have a 9-5, and to do their own thing... but a 9-5 provides some good structure to your life.
You don't want to be staying up for 20 hours at a time, crashing out for 10, etc etc... It's really bad for you.

We met at ASE and went to lunch with Geoff and some other Advaliant affiliates at the nice seafood place.

I just graduated from college and had a job lined up since last november that was supposed to start this past August... I called them in July and told them I wasn't coming... It's been an awesome decision so far.

I agree with Nicky-- "Welcome to the good life."

(Although I remember you telling us your job gave you certain advantages, but I'm sure you took all that into account.)
