I've been doing Adwords campaigns for my university for about a year now, and I've decided to take it to the streets with some local marketing.

I've decided on email blast.
Followed up by direct mail blast
followed by telephone call

Has anyone had any success with something like this. I figure its a no brainer setting up small campaigns for these hardly searched businesses and convincing owners they "need to be on Google"...they have over half of all search volume!! :)

So far I've got a list of about 50 local business contacts for email blast #1. Any thoughts on what some receptive niches wanting to throw money out the door for this type of advertising?

Tips? Past experiences?

Thanks, ill let people know how it goes.

Go to chamber of commerce meetings, or local Meetup.com small business groups, and you'll be a lot more effective thatn doing email blasts and cold calling. Personal selling will work a lot better.

Hmm, yeah I was worried about being ignored through email. I will see how the first blast goes, if i get any responses at all. Thanks
