How about Wordpress with plugins for social bookmarking? This is being pitched to me right now, and I'm not sure if I should go with it.
But it can have the same functionality as Pligg and other types of software? If so, what plugins would I need?
No clue - but just using wordpress as a platform period. I honestly wouldn't even investigate it further -
As it stands, I have Pligg installed as a social bookmarking platform and need some customizing and a graphic skin. Finding a coder to do the job is difficult. Any recommendations?
That drigg script is sleek and good looking. Nice find Red Virus! Maybe I will set up a niche bookmarking site sometime.
My concerns were the spamming thing, on his site he only mentions an antispam plugin for drupal.

What about CAPTHCAs in these social bookmarking sites?
Simply put, automating it in a WP plugin is not gonna happen unless you want to shell out big bucks to a coder & OCR programmer to build for all these sites.

I'm seriously thinking of switching from Pligg to Drigg, based on the comments here. Also, I was influenced by the Drupal widgets that are abundant and available for free. Pligg has only a few modules and you have to pay for all of them.
I figured I should refresh this thread and see what's new in the wacky world of social bookmarking. Has anybody found a plugin for Wordpress that will give you social bookmarking functionality? I am trying to avoid Pligg and Drupal for this, which are big coding jobs.
