Social bookmarking submissions - Good for all sites?

I'm thinking of submitting my Image Hosting site to 100 social bookmarking sites to increase backlinks and hopefully the traffic will follow.

Do you think this will help my image hosting site or would this be a preferred method for content sites like blogs, etc??
