Software Flagged as Phishing

I've been trying to get to the bottom of issues I have been having where Chrome is flagging my software as 'phishing'.

I own a download site and bundle freeware, and software I have had created. None of the software has any phishing capabilities.

I started to see this a bit before the New Year, but this past month has been brutal. Does anyone know how a phishing site is determined? Even my landers themselves will get flagged. Does Google have an algorithm, is it people flagging them manually, etc.?

Any insights would be helpful

Is it your actual "Software" or your domain or a url?

Have you filed with Google that you are "clean"?

I've done this in the past for a domain that was flagged, and it was cleared up really fast (couple days).

Thanks for the reply Todd,

It seems to be the url... several different pieces of software have been hit, and I can't find a pattern. I change the content of the landing page and software over to a new domain and that seems to be fine for a bit, then it is hit again.

I haven't filed with Google, I want to have a clear understanding as to what is happening and don't want to cause waves needlessly. I can't see a page that specifically says x or y is flagged, and for what reason - just claims that it is a phishing site.

I did some testing and it appears this is happening on more than just Chrome. I'm thinking 'safebrowsing' may have something to do with it...

Are you sure you don't have any JavaScript or Files from UGC you are not aware of that could be causing this? Or a security problem and someone injected something?

What is the complete error in GWMT?

It doesn't tell me anything, other than traffic is stopping to that page. There is no way any UGC is injecting something.

Would logo's matter? I'm not sure if Google will crawl through and find a logo it doesn't like and think I am trying to gather info from a user by pretending to be google? It's either that or my competition is manually flagging, it's all that I can think of.

Might want to look at what you are using to bundle with? They might be getting detected as malware somehow if you are running with a company.

But then you would think that every page that is bundling would be getting flagged..

Maybe do a virus total lookup on the programs on the pages that are getting flagged and see if they return any id's as being infections by the big companies.

Also take a look over here. https://www.stopbadware.org/ to see if it returns anything related to your site.... as Google is a very strong partner/owner/whatever with them and that is a way that you can communicate with the beast without going direct to them.
