Hey everyone,

I was searching for my site in google and I found that for some reason its title is coming up as "Buy Amoxicillin Without Prescription" (or other prescription drug titles--it rotates apparently), which is completely wrong. The image is here: http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/5793/hackedu.jpg

Does anyone know how I can fix this or where I need to look for the code? I did a basic search of my sites page source but couldn't find that text anywhere.

Obviously this ain't too good for rankings (prolly why they've dropped), and if anyone could help me fix it that would be awesome.

Thanks,
Colin

Since you're using wordpress.

Are you using a theme you got from the internet?

You pay for it?

Probably some JS code injection. Check for some encrypted code and remove it.

If that's not it, then you probably have left your theme files available for editing. Put them all to 644 after you're done editing them in the WP editor or people can get access to them.

Thanks for the tips. After some Google digging I found that the problem was not unique to me. Apparently there was some wp vulnerability that led to widespread pharma hacks like this. In case anyone has the same problems, I followed the guide here: How to Diagnose and Remove the WordPress Pharma Hack and have hopefully fixed my site. It was a combination of corrupted files and database entries.

People working with pharma traffic use this method all the time. There are two options: 1. "Specific" wp theme
2. Simple hack of your website and adding of js
